How to Use Parent Access

Parent involvement is useful when it supports the student, but it works best when everyone understands what the parent can and cannot do.

Parent access starts with permission

CounselorCart does not give parents automatic access to everything. Students can allow specific kinds of access, such as payments, booking, meetings, shared documents, purchased documents, or viewing certain counselor dashboards.

The purpose of parent access

We want to give parents the ability to monitor services and make sure the student and counselor are both doing their work. Use your parent dashboard to track what the student is doing and/or book meetings for the students depending on the permissions.

Use parent access to reduce friction

When parent access is set up thoughtfully, students keep agency, parents can support the process, and counselors have a cleaner picture of who is responsible for what.
